Summertime and the living is easy

The summer brings with it many different types of gigs and that is what makes it fun to be a drummer/percussionist.

It is only July 5th and already I have covered a multitude of venues and environments this summer including but not limited to:

- small clubs

- large clubs

- church

- corporate / private events

- outdoors in the woods

- backyards

- outdoors in the center of downtown

- second floor of of a Pub

- first floor of a Pub (I sense a theme here....)

In thinking about these gigs, I have brought a multitude of gear with me based on the band, venue and/or type of music to be performed:

- large kit

- small kit

- no kit

- cajone

- Conga

- Djembe

- and lots of assorted percussion where ever I go...

Key message: Plan ahead and be prepared!
